In Thailand, traditional shoemaking is quietly disappearing.
For many years, footwear production has moved toward faster systems and industrial processes. As machines replaced hands, fewer craftsmen remained able to shape leather uppers entirely by hand.
Today, only a small number of shoemakers still carry this knowledge.
Among them is Mr. Surin, a craftsman from Ang Thong province.
He is 65 years old.
And he has been making shoes for more than 50 years.
Each pair of TRANSIT LOAFER MULE is shaped by his hands.
Urban Trooper began as a polyurethane sole manufacturer in Thailand.
For decades, our family factory has developed comfort sole structures using proprietary material formulations refined across generations.
For this model, we chose to bring two forms of Thai expertise together:
the making of the sole
and the shaping of the leather upper
The result is TRANSIT LOAFER MULE.
A pair built entirely through Thai hands.
The foundation of TRANSIT LOAFER MULE begins with its sole.
The outsole structure is shaped using a mold designed by a Thai specialist who has worked in footwear sole engineering for more than 40 years.
Together with Urban Trooper’s proprietary polyurethane formulation and BounceFlex technology, this structure supports natural walking movement and long-term comfort.
The design gently stabilizes the foot and encourages the formation of a natural arch over time.
For many wearers with flat feet, extended use helps restore balance and reduce strain during daily movement.
This is not only a comfort sole.
It is a structure developed as a true health-supporting foundation for walking.
The leather upper of each TRANSIT LOAFER MULE is not shaped by machine.
It is pulled into form manually by Mr. Surin.
Each seam is stitched by hand.
Each pair is completed slowly.
Because this process depends entirely on human craftsmanship, production remains naturally limited.
Not by intention.
But by what is still possible today.
The sole is produced in our family factory in Thailand using material knowledge developed over generations.
The leather upper is shaped by one of the last remaining craftsmen capable of constructing this type of shoe entirely by hand.
TRANSIT LOAFER MULE exists because these two traditions still meet in the same place.
For now.
Urban Trooper’s proprietary polyurethane formulation has been refined through decades of footwear material development.
Combined with BounceFlex technology, the sole provides:
softness
stability
energy response
and long-term walking support
The structure gently supports ankle positioning and improves natural alignment during movement throughout the day.
It is designed not only for comfort in the moment — but for comfort over time.
TRANSIT LOAFER MULE is produced in small quantities.
Not as a limited edition.
But because true hand-shaped construction cannot be accelerated.
This pair represents a moment where traditional shoemaking knowledge and material engineering still exist together in Thailand.
A pair shaped by Thai hands.
From Ang Thong.
TRANSIT LOAFER MULE was created for people who move between places, roles, and rhythms throughout the day.
Comfort like sneakers.
Presence like leather shoes.
Made for those who keep moving.
